Mike Cope's blog

Probably several blog readers already know about Sojourners online. Here is a recent baccalaureate address given by Jim Wallis at Stanford on June 12. Now that's a message to send graduates out on!!

  • Thank you for linking to that.

  • As a recent emmegrant from Calfornia, I'm astounded that Wallis was able to continue with his speech after the FIRST mention of God, much less be able to make faith and belief remarks without being booed off the platform. God be Praised! Maybe there's still hope for the northern quarter of my beautiful State. Thanks for the link, Mike!!

  • How do I edit on this Blog? I'd like to correct a word in my originsl post to read "immigrant" Thanks :)

  • Yeah! I would like to know the same thing. There used to be these little trash cans where you could even delete a post, but it has disappeared from the page on my computer.

  • Sorry, friends. On my blog, once you make a mistake IT'S THERE FOR GOOD. It's there to shame you and embarrass you.

No, actually, I have no clue how to edit or where the cute little trash cans get. "Paging Wade Hodges or Matt Elliott." (This is my approach to all computer problems: find someone significantly younger than me.)

  • If you're logged in, the trash can still shows beside the comments you've made. As for editing, though, I'm afraid that's beyond the capabilities of this blog. If you make a mistake, you can trash it and start over, but there will be a little spot left telling everyone what you did. ^_~

  • That's just it! There is no trash can! I can remember when it used to be there, but it is not there anymore.

But back to the original post. Wow! What a speech!

  • Serena --

What I meant was that it still shows up on my comments. I've got this computer permanently logged into this account, so I'm not automatically logged out when I'm done commenting. And I still see the icon by each comment I've made.

  • Hey, Mike -- I'm not THAT much younger than you! (I'm in my forties, for crying out loud...)

I don't know what to tell you. My trash can is still there! I suspect that Quiara ("Q") is correct about staying logged in. Also, if read/post from different computers (one at home, one at work, for instance), I find that the trash can only appears on the computer from which I posted.

  • Wow! It works! I too am permanently logged on at my office, but have taken some days off. So ran over and found those little trash cans. : )

  • I'm glad it worked for you. There is, of course, always the possibility that since Google bought Blogger, the whole thing has just been possessed by maniacal interface-destroying demons from the pit. I don't suggest holy water in this case, though. It just ticks them off.

  • Q,

The side-splitting laughter you are hearing is from me! : ) I guess its a good thing I didn't stock up on Holy Water when it was one of the free advertisements at the top of Mike's blog.

By Blogger Serena Voss, at 6/23/2004 03:49:00 PM

  • Yeah -- I've been watching the ads, too. Apparently Mike is a closet Southern Baptist-Catholic.

    By Blogger Q, at 6/23/2004 07:50:00 PM

  • And as of today, they've added Assemblies of God. So my guess is he's founding a new denomination: the churches of the Southern Roman Captist Assemblies of God of Christ.

Of course, that's how rumors get started...

    By Blogger Q, at 6/24/2004 06:32:00 AM

  • Hey, Q. Get in line, girl. That rumor's been out there on the internet for a long time!

By Blogger Mike, at 6/24/2004 07:54:00 AM

  • Well, I promise I wasn't the one who told them. At least not that rumor...

  • Mike,
No wonder you are such a fan of baseball. You really need to be proficient in the use of the bat in order to knock down all these unfounded rumors, don't you. Yipes! You are in good company - Jesus made you a promise ya' know about when you are reviled for His namesake.
