Waiting for further word from Pensacola . . . . My sister and her husband lost their roof in the storm. Who knows what Pensacola and Pensacola Beach (and several other communities) will look like when cameras move in later this morning. - - - - I've listened to the new Zoe CD called "Desperate." It's incredible. Great job Brandon and gang. See you all in a couple weeks. (I hope several in this blog community will be there. Registrations have been closed--maxed out at about 1050.) - - - - John Lackey gave up one run and struck out 10 last night in 7 2/3 innings . . . and didn't get a win! Come on, Angels.

  • Come on.....surely Albert Pujols, Jimmy Edmonds, Scott Rolens and the rest of the Cards can hope for a LITTLE ink in your blog! WORLD SERIES, BABY!!

  • Oh how I wish I was going to make it for Zoe this year....I've read comments on several different blogs about a "blog table" at breakfast on Saturday....wouldn't that be great?!

It's almost as though he's trying to communicate... it sounds like English... ^_~

  • Thanks, Mike! Can't wait to see you either. Lots going on. Funny how when big huge conferences and recording come up--the world doesn't stop and people don't stop hurting. Thanks for your constant encouragement. Love you, bro.

  • I won't get to make the ZOE Conference this year, because my wife selfishly expects me to be around for the birth of our son. Sure, hon, it's all about you.

(For the sarcasm-impaired... I'm kidding. Wouldn't dream of missing the baby's arrival.)

Regarding the conference: Will there be video feeds available online after the conference's conclusion?

    (Go Dodgers.)

  • Guess John was just having a bad day. But you gotta admit that all the Lackeys are good athletes. His uncle Gene used to coach Alex and his son Larken in Fast pitch softball and led them to city champs. And of course Johnny's son Spense is an awesome athlete. Just watched him play football tonight against Wylie JV. Alex too of course. They beat the JV team 34 to 2. Not bad for Freshmen at AHS. The glory days are returning.
It's fun to watch your boys do what they do, isn't it?
Here's one other fascinating fact. When he ws in town, John used to be our neighbor. Alex and his friends used to throw the ball around with him. Which we thought was WAY COOL!

  • DESPERATE is an awesome ministry on CD.

Here in Pascagoula, we were braced for a direct hit ... and just a little jog to the East took destruction to Pensacola. My friend and preacher at Gateway says there is significant damage to the building...but he has been unable to get back in yet. Let's keep all of the Mobile-Fort Walton area in our prayers.
