Chris's 8-week spring break ends today! Back to Lincoln Middle School in his wheelchair. One thing he really liked about home-schooling was that he could sleep in as late as he wanted, have breakfast when he prefers (around 10:00 . . . which is just 35 minutes before he has lunch at middle school), and then get busy on homework assignments. He was fortunate to have a wonderful teacher (Diane, who took off that time from teaching second grade). Here's a new blog you might want to check out. John Willis, an incredible Old Testament scholar and one of the best elders you'd ever meet in your life, has for years been e-mailing out a daily devotional. Starting yesterday he's putting the devotional on this site.

  • Mike -

Glad to hear your son is "back to school." And, thanks so much for the tip on John Willis' new site. I'm having a hard day today and his insights about the value of emotions and feelings, whatever they are, were very uplifting for me, as mine were really down. I now have him tagged with my favorites to check every day.

  • Mike,
John and Evelyn Willis are two of my favorite people. I loved hearing Evelyn's voice reading scripture to her family a couple of months ago. One Sunday morning John was standing up front waiting for the children to come up for something and the congregation was singing Ancient Words. I couldn't help but think about John and his faithfulness to those Ancient Words. He keeps studying and he continues to stay open and ready for new insight. He is also humble and gentle and kind and full of wisdom. Can you tell I love them?
    grace, Julie
